Dr. Ghulam Ali

Dr. Ghulam Ali obtained his PhD from Monash University, Australia, and completed a postdoc at Peking University, Beijing. He was a MOFA Fellow (Taiwan), Hanban Fellow (China), Lee Hysan Fellow (Chinese University of Hong Kong), and CfCC Fellow (National Tsing Hua University). He is an alumnus of Wilton Park Conferences, Salzburg Global Seminars, and RCSS (Sri Lanka). He has held academic positions in Pakistan, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. He is the author or editor of four books from Oxford, Routledge, and Springer, and has published in peer-reviewed journals such as The Pacific Review, Pacific Focus, Middle East Policy, The China Review, Critical Sociology, Issues & Studies, and Politics & Policy, among others. His commentaries and policy briefs have also been published in ThinkChina, China-US Focus, The Diplomat, East Asia Forum, RSIS Commentary, and Global Taiwan Brief, among others. He is currently an independent researcher based in Taiwan.
