TRENDS Global Launches a Virtual Office in the Balkans to Strengthen Research Partnerships Across the Region The office will serve as a knowledge bridge connecting the Balkans with the Middle East and North Africa.

In a strategic step that reinforces its global presence and further establishes its role as a leading intellectual platform, TRENDS Global has announced the opening of its new virtual office in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The office will serve as a knowledge bridge connecting the Balkans with the Middle East and North Africa.

The new office aims to promote intellectual dialogue on current regional and international issues and support policymakers and experts by building stronger connections between leading thinkers and researchers in both regions.

Commenting on the launch, Abdulaziz Al-Marzouqi, Head of the International Offices Sector at Trends Global, said that Bosnia and Herzegovina was chosen as the gateway to the Balkans because of its unique geopolitical position.

Al-Marzouqi said: “The opening of TRENDS virtual office in Sarajevo marks an important milestone in our research journey. He added that the new office will focus on building strategic partnerships with leading research and academic institutions across the Balkans, while organizing high-quality events and activities that encourage the exchange of expertise, support evidence-based policymaking, strengthen regional cooperation, and expand networks of experts and researchers.

Expanding the Expert Network

Alma Hakirevic, Director of the TRENDS Virtual Balkans Office, said the office will cover 11 countries and aims to expand its network of researchers, opinion leaders, and experts. She noted that this expansion reflects the Center’scommitment to strengthening regional connectivity and promoting knowledge exchange, further enhancing its global presence as a leading think tank.

The TRENDS virtual office in Sarajevo covers a broad network of strategically important Balkan countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Romania, Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Slovenia, Greece, and North Macedonia.
