Participants in the Researchers of Tomorrow training program (second cohort), organized by the TRENDS Training Institute in collaboration with the TRENDS Dubai Office, described the program as a significant milestone in their academic and research journeys. They said it enhanced their academic research and critical analysis skills while providing advanced practical experience in preparing research papers and studies in accordance with modern scientific methodologies.
Participants noted that the program extended well beyond theoretical instruction, offering an integrated learning environment that enabled them to engage directly with researchers and subject-matter experts. It also introduced them to the processes of knowledge production, research writing, and the analysis of regional and international issues, strengthening their methodological thinking and future-oriented perspective.
They emphasized that the program reflects TRENDS’ vision of investing in young talent, empowering aspiring researchers, and preparing a new generation equipped with the tools of scientific inquiry and capable of contributing to knowledge production and delivering evidence-based insights that support decision-makers in addressing rapidly evolving challenges.
One participant said he is currently preparing a research paper at TRENDS Research & Advisory, describing the experience as enriching from the very beginning and noting that it has significantly enhanced his research skills and deepened his understanding of political issues and international relations.
He explained that his paper focuses on liberalism and realism, two of the foundational theories in the field of international relations. He added that studying these theories in depth and examining international politics through their lenses has been an intellectually rewarding experience, enabling him to analyze global developments with greater depth and methodological rigor.
The participant also said the program has further strengthened his passion for scientific research and given him a clearer vision of his academic future and the path he hopes to pursue in political studies and international relations. He noted that the scholarly environment fostered by TRENDS has refined his research capabilities and encouraged him to continue exploring and questioning. “I believe we are very lucky to have an institution like TRENDS that encourages researchers to seek answers continually and to keep asking questions,” he concluded.
The Researchers of Tomorrow program is part of a series of training initiatives delivered by the TRENDS Training Institute to build young people’s capacities and prepare them in line with the latest scientific and research methodologies. The program aims to develop a new generation of researchers capable of producing knowledge, keeping pace with global developments, and fostering a culture of research and innovation.
