In Collaboration with Abu Dhabi University, TRENDS Al Ain Hosts Workshop on Empowering Youth in the Age of AI Agents

The workshop explored the rapid evolution of AI, highlighting the transition from generative AI models to AI agents capable of autonomous interaction.  As part of its ongoing efforts to advance scientific research, promote awareness of emerging technologies, and strengthen partnerships with academic and cultural institutions, TRENDS Al Ain Office organized an interactive workshop titled Empowering Youth in the Age of AI Agents in collaboration with Abu Dhabi University – Al Ain. Held at the university, the event brought together approximately 200 students from schools across Al Ain.  Eng. Eissa Al-Mannaei, an AI researcher at TRENDS, conducted the workshop. He explored the rapid evolution of AI, highlighting the transition from generative AI models to AI agents capable of autonomous interaction, decision-making, and the efficient execution of complex tasks. The session covered several key themes, including the concept of AI agents and how they differ from generative AI models, the future-ready skills young people need to effectively leverage intelligent technologies in education and research, and the opportunities and challenges associated with these technologies, with particular emphasis on ethical and security considerations.      The workshop generated strong engagement from participants, who took part in lively discussions and raised questions about how AI agents can support their academic and professional development, as well as their potential applications across various fields. Eng. Eissa Al-Mannaei expressed his pleasure at delivering the workshop in collaboration with Abu Dhabi University – Al Ain, emphasizing the importance of equipping young people with the knowledge and digital skills needed to become active contributors to shaping the future.  Warda Al-Menhali, Director of the TRENDS Al Ain Office, noted that the workshop reflects TRENDS’ commitment to empowering young people with the knowledge and skills required to keep pace with rapid technological transformation.      “The age of AI agents demands more than simply keeping up with technology. It calls for preparing informed, innovative talent capable of leading this transformation with confidence and competence,” Al-Menhali said. “We are delighted to collaborate with Abu Dhabi University – Al Ain and remain committed to delivering high-quality initiatives that strengthen students’ capabilities and bridge the gap between academic knowledge and technological advancement,” she added.  Dr. Mohammed Fatiha, Director of Abu Dhabi University’s Al Ain Campus and Director of the Faculty Development Center, commended TRENDS for their valuable contribution to ADU’s Summer Camp.   The workshop, “Empowering Youth in the Age of AI Agents” led by Eng.
