During a media briefing held at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, TRENDS Group said its participation reflects its commitment to strengthening the presence of scientific research at major cultural and knowledge events and making its research output accessible to a broad audience of readers, researchers, academics and specialists. Participation is also intended to foster intellectual dialogue and knowledge exchange and create new avenues for discussion on key regional and international issues and transformations.

A Platform for Dialogue and the Exchange of Expertise

Mohammed Al-Salmi, Director General of Trends Research & Advisory, said the Group’s participation in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair reflects the event’s significance as a leading knowledge and cultural platform that brings together research institutions, academia, publishers and readers from around the world. Al-Salmi noted that this year’s participation carries particular significance as it complements the fair’s theme, “Turn the Page… and Read the World.” He explained that, through its research and intellectual output, TRENDS Group seeks to anticipate future developments, analyze geopolitical and economic shifts, and provide rigorous research-based insights that contribute to cultural and societal awareness and promote informed dialogue on pressing contemporary issues.

Al-Salmi added that TRENDS Group’s participation in book fairs and cultural events has expanded across various regions and countries, reflecting the Group’s conviction that scientific research constitutes a universal language of dialogue and understanding. He stressed that research institutions play an important role wherever ideas are exchanged, and visions for the future are shaped.

A Diverse Knowledge Program

Rawda Al Marzouqi, Head of the Distribution and Exhibitions Sector at TRENDS Group, said the Group has prepared a diverse knowledge program that reflects the stature of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. The program features its latest encyclopedias, translated books, publications, and research studies, alongside a range of activities that allow visitors to explore the Group’s scientific and intellectual output. She explained that the TRENDS pavilion features around 500 publications covering a wide range of fields, as well as a selection of new books and studies being presented for the first time at the fair.

The program includes dialogue and discussion sessions and book-signing events featuring several researchers and authors, providing visitors with opportunities to engage directly with the ideas and research behind the Group’s publications. Al Marzouqi added that TRENDS Group’s participation also coincides with the fair’s celebration of Balkan culture, with the Balkans serving as the Guest of Honor at this year’s edition. Through its Virtual Office in the Balkans, the Group is showcasing a selection of publications and studies exploring the region from cultural, geographical, intellectual and literary perspectives.

The Knowledge Dissemination Mission

Zayed Al Dhaheri, Director of the Distribution Department within the Distribution and Exhibitions Sector at TRENDS, said the Group’s participation in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair represents a further extension of its growing presence in the cultural and knowledge landscape, both locally and internationally. He explained that TRENDS views its participation as part of its broader mission to disseminate knowledge and make scientific research accessible to the widest possible audience of readers, researchers and decision-makers.

Al Dhaheri emphasized that the value of knowledge is not fulfilled by producing it alone, but by its ability to reach wider audiences, generate impact and open new spaces for dialogue and intellectual exchange.

An Interactive Knowledge Pavilion

Hazza Al Hammadi, Director of the Exhibitions Department at TRENDS Group, said the Group’s pavilion has been designed as an interactive knowledge space where visitors and researchers can explore TRENDS publications and research projects and gain a deeper understanding of the Group’s areas of work and scientific output.

The pavilion provides visitors with an opportunity to engage with TRENDS Group’s diverse body of research and publications, reflecting its broader commitment to making knowledge accessible and fostering dialogue across disciplines and borders.

In addition, Al-Yazia Al-Housani, Head of the Media Department at TRENDS, explained that TRENDS’ pavilion and activities at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair will feature special media coverage and presence, noting several events and podcast episodes that will be recorded.
