June 2026 saw important political and economic developments in the South Asia region. From external factors like the effects of the Middle East conflict on energy supplies, to internal developments, the region saw a re-alignment in certain places and a maintenance of the status quo in others. In South Asia Brief (SAB), we take a look at seven countries of South Asia- India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives on a monthly basis. The idea is to analyze the important political and economic developments that have taken place in that particular country and its repercussions for India and the MENA (Middle East North Africa) region.
