July 2026 was an important month in South Asia where many significant economic and political developments unfolded. The effects of the Middle East conflict on energy supplies remained a factor in much of the region; internal developments saw interesting new threads start in some parts, while the region as a whole saw important development, political and economic.
In South Asia Brief (SAB), we take a look at seven countries of South Asia- India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives on a monthly basis. The idea is to analyze the important political and economic developments that have taken place in that particular country and its repercussions for India and the MENA (Middle East North Africa) region.
