A significant move towards protecting intellectual property and promoting knowledge leadership
In a significant move that strengthens knowledge leadership, presence in the publishing and knowledge system, and the protection of intellectual property rights, TRENDS Research & Advisory, part of the TRENDS Group, has joined the Emirates Reprographic Rights Association (ERRA). The membership supports TRENDS’ efforts to protect the rights of its authors, researchers, and publications and to regulate the use of intellectual and knowledge content in accordance with the best approved practices.
Joining the association reflects TRENDS’ firm commitment to building an integrated knowledge system based on creativity, innovation, and legal protection, thus adding it to a distinguished group of leading cultural and scientific institutions that seek to establish a culture of respect for intellectual property in the UAE and the region.

Safeguarding Research Output
This new membership represents a qualitative addition to TRENDS’ journey, as it will not be limited to protecting the rights of authors and researchers but will also extend to organizing the process of benefiting from its unique intellectual, research, and scientific content in accordance with the highest standards and best international practices, thereby enhancing TRENDS’ position as a research and intellectual institution with extensive knowledge and expertise, protecting its outputs, and preserving the rights of their producers, in line with the UAE’s vision of supporting the creative economy and protecting creators.
The membership is the culmination of TRENDS’ ongoing efforts in the field of scientific and knowledge publishing, as it aims to protect the rights of authors and researchers and those associated with diverse scientific publications, as well as regulate the use of intellectual content, thereby ensuring the sustainability of knowledge production and supporting serious scientific research in the region and around the world.
Ensuring Creative Rights
Commenting on this achievement, Zayed Al Dhaheri, Director of Distribution at TRENDS Distribution and Exhibitions, said that TRENDS’ joining the ERRA is not merely a legal procedure, but rather an embodiment of TRENDS’ professional commitment to researchers and authors. He noted that protecting intellectual property rights is the cornerstone of the continuity of creativity, innovation, and excellence, and that this membership provides a safe environment that enables writers and researchers to focus on producing high-quality, impactful content while protecting their creative rights.
Al Dhaheri added that this move continues TRENDS’ membership in the Arab Publishers’ Association last year, as part of an ambitious strategy to expand its presence in the publishing and knowledge system at the regional and international levels.

Global Publishing Standards
Hazzaa Al Hammadi, Director of Exhibitions at TRENDS’ Distribution and Exhibitions sector, noted that the membership underscores TRENDS’ leading role in the knowledge and cultural landscape. This role is demonstrated through the organization and use of intellectual and research content in accordance with best practices, ensuring a balance between protecting creators’ rights and facilitating access to knowledge for researchers, specialists, and those interested in research and science.
The membership reflects TRENDS’ commitment to the highest global publishing standards and strengthens its active presence in international cultural and intellectual forums. Al Hammadi explained that this membership will enhance TRENDS’ participation, along with that of its five companies, in international book fairs and global publishing platforms, and expand its partnerships with publishing houses and academic and intellectual institutions at the regional and international levels.
