AlMahri: Investing in young talent strengthens the knowledge industry and prepares a generation capable of using data for foresight.
TRENDS Barometer welcomed a group of students from the United Arab Emirates University in Al Ain and the American University in Dubai as part of its Practical Training Program, which aims to equip students with practical skills and enhance their expertise in opinion polling, media monitoring, and digital analysis. The program helps prepare national talent with the scientific knowledge and practical tools needed to keep pace with the rapid transformations in research and future studies.
During the program, students received intensive practical training on the various stages of preparing and conducting opinion polls, beginning with designing questionnaires according to scientific principles, selecting samples, and collecting data, and concluding with analyzing results and extracting key indicators. They also learned about the latest digital programs and technologies used to manage opinion polls and analyze their outputs.
Participants were also introduced to the digital monitoring and analysis system at TRENDS Barometer, including the mechanisms for monitoring media and digital content, tracking public opinion trends, and analyzing big data using advanced tools and technologies. These capabilities help produce accurate indicators that support research, studies, and informed decision-making.
The program included practical sessions and interactive workshops that enabled students to work directly with the digital systems used in data analysis and report preparation. They also gained insight into global best practices in measurement, monitoring, and forecasting future trends.
Mr. Fahad AlMahri, General Manager of TRENDS Global, confirmed that hosting the students falls within TRENDS’ commitment to its social and knowledge-based role in supporting universities and academic institutions, linking theoretical knowledge with practical application, and enabling young people to acquire the modern skills required by the labor market.
“At TRENDS, we believe that investing in young people is an investment in the future. Therefore, we are committed to providing an advanced training environment that enables students to learn about the latest practices in opinion polling, data analysis, and digital monitoring,” Mr. AlMahri said. He added that these skills have become fundamental pillars for supporting decision-making and anticipating future developments. “Through our training programs, we seek to prepare a generation of researchers and specialists capable of leveraging data and knowledge to produce accurate scientific insights that contribute to sustainable development.”
He added that TRENDS Barometer continues to develop its programs to keep pace with global advancements in artificial intelligence and data analytics. It also strengthens its partnerships with universities and academic institutions in line with TRENDS’ mission to disseminate knowledge, build capacity, and support scientific research and innovation.
This program is part of a series of training initiatives implemented by TRENDS Barometer to promote a culture of scientific research and prepare young professionals with expertise in data analysis, opinion polling, and digital monitoring, thereby contributing to the growth of the knowledge economy and supporting development and innovation.
