Colonel (Ret.) Ralph Thiele

Colonel (Ret.) Ralph Thiele is a German expert in NATO affairs and European security. He has chaired the Berlin-based Political-Military Society since 1997 and has served as CEO of StratByrd Consulting since 2013. Drawing on extensive experience spanning the political, military, technological, and academic spheres, he has held numerous senior leadership and advisory positions within the German Armed Forces, NATO, and the German Ministry of Defense, including serving as Commander of the Bundeswehr Transformation Centre. He also held appointments at the NATO Defense College in Rome and the German General Staff and Command College in Hamburg. Throughout his distinguished career, Thiele has contributed to numerous national and European security research programs, published extensively, and delivered lectures and keynote addresses worldwide on comprehensive security, military transformation, network-enabled capabilities, and cyber technologies.
