As part of its participation in the Warsaw International Book Fair 2026 TRENDS Global and Poland’s Centre for Eastern Studies (OSW) explore prospects for cooperation TRENDS Research & Advisory showcases the Muslim Brotherhood International Power Index (MBIPI)

Continued strengthening its active intellectual presence at the 2026 Warsaw International Book Fair, Trends Group attracted a large number of prominent figures, researchers, and authors to its pavilion. At the same time, Trends Global, a subsidiary of the group, held a dialogue session with the Centre for Eastern Studies (OSW), one of the leading think tanks and strategic research institutions in Poland and Europe. The meeting reflected the group’s commitment to expanding its international partnerships and building knowledge bridges with leading research institutions worldwide.

The meeting featured an in-depth discussion on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, emphasizing the importance of research-based dialogue in understanding ongoing transformations and anticipating their future trajectories.

Officials from the Centre for Eastern Studies underscored the significance of the visit by the Trends Global delegation to its headquarters in Warsaw, describing it as a qualitative step toward strengthening communication and cooperation between research institutions in Poland and the Gulf region. They noted that Trends Group, through its five companies, is among the prominent research institutions that actively contribute to building bridges of knowledge, enhancing international cooperation, and promoting the exchange of expertise.

The Centre’s officials also praised the role played by the group in supporting scientific dialogue and producing rigorous knowledge, expressing their aspiration to expand areas of joint cooperation and develop research initiatives that address issues of common interest and foster greater understanding among intellectual and research institutions.

For their part, representatives of Trends Global stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation with European think tanks and expanding channels of scientific and intellectual engagement in ways that support development and stability. They emphasized the value of providing insights and analyses grounded in rigorous scientific research on regional and international issues.Top of FormBottom of Form

On another front, and in the presence of Mr. Tomasz Miśkiewicz, Mufti of the Republic of Poland and President of the Muslim Religious Union in Poland, TRENDS Research & Advisory, part of TRENDS Group, launched the updated edition of the Muslim Brotherhood International Power Index (MBIPI) 2025 in its three languages—Arabic, English, and French—during its participation in the Warsaw International Book Fair in Poland.

The launch was followed by a panel discussion organized by TRENDS at its pavilion at the book fair, titled A Reading into the Muslim Brotherhood’s International Power Index 2025. The session highlighted the key findings, data, and practical applications of the new edition of this international index.

The discussion featured Fatimah Al Remeithi, Senior Researcher at TRENDS, and Moza Al Mheiri, Researcher at TRENDS, who both provided a detailed breakdown of the analytical data and figures featured in this year’s index.

The two researchers stated that the index data showed a significant decline in the Muslim Brotherhood’s overall strength and influence worldwide. The group’s total power index score dropped sharply from 67.7% in 2024 to 47.3% in 2025, reflecting an ongoing regression driven by a combination of internal crises and external pressures.

The speakers explained that the index mapped out the geographical distribution of the group’s influence across different continents as follows:

  • The Americas (1st Place – 24.8%): This top ranking is attributed to the group’s ability to exploit open civic spaces and civil liberties to influence public opinion and decision-making. This remains true despite recent legal shifts and stricter U.S. political stances, such as executive orders and state-level measures in Texas and Florida aimed at designating Brotherhood affiliates as foreign terrorist organizations.
  • Asia (2nd Place – 22.5%): Driven by the diversity of Islamic environments and the group’s deeply entrenched ideological, educational, and economic extensions.
  • Africa (3rd Place – 20.2%): Marking a growing footprint of political Islam, though with varying degrees of organizational structure.
  • Europe (4th Place – 17.0%): Reflecting a clear decline due to tighter security policies and stricter regulations enacted following waves of terrorism and irregular migration (particularly in countries like Germany and Austria). Nonetheless, the index highlights that the group maintains a stronger concentration in Europe within the media (60.1%) and social (53.6%) sectors, contrasted by a weak direct political impact (37.2%).
  • The Arab World (Last Place – 15.5%): The group recorded a relative weakness in this region, with a moderate average overall power score of 47.5%, distributed across political and security indicators (46.4%), economic (48.6%), media (45.4%), and social (49.7%). This domestic decline is a direct consequence of fractured organizational structures and a severely diminished political and popular base since 2013, forcing the Brotherhood’s center of gravity to shift from the Arab world to Western and Asian arenas.

Researchers Fatimah Al Remeithi and Moza Al Mheiri summarized the primary factors behind the group’s shrinking influence into four main pillars:

  1. Credibility Crisis: Caused by a weakened media apparatus and provocative propaganda that suffers from a severe lack of professionalism and objective standards.
  1. Internal Fractures: Driven by ongoing infighting, leadership disputes, and structural splintering within the organization.
  1. Legal and Security Crackdowns: Catalyzed by mounting international pressure, law enforcement scrutiny, and the systematic dismantling of Brotherhood-linked organizations.
  1. Public and Social Awareness: Strengthened by effective educational campaigns and documentary works that successfully exposed the falsehood of the group’s slogans, as well as its history of violence and subversion.

It is worth noting that TRENDS Research & Advisory is showcasing a curated selection of publications from its acclaimed TRENDS Encyclopedia on the Muslim Brotherhood at its pavilion during the Warsaw International Book Fair.

Considered one of the most prominent scientific and documentary research series analyzing the group’s organizational ideology and multi-dimensional facets, several volumes of this valuable encyclopedia have been translated into 16 global languages, ensuring its rigorous research reaches a wide audience of readers and experts worldwide.
