Based in Beirut since 1994, he is a consultant in matters related to security and politics in Lebanon and Syria. He is also a nonresident senior fellow with the Atlantic Council in Washington, D.C. A prolific author and frequent contributor to various outlets including the world-renowned Janes, Blanford is the author of <em>Warriors of God: Inside Hezbollah\u2019s Thirty-Year Struggle Against Israel <\/em>(Random House, 2011); and <em>Killing Mr Lebanon: The Assassination of Rafik Hariri and its Impact on the Middle East<\/em> (IB Tauris, 2006). Previously, he was the Beirut correspondent of\u00a0<em>The Christian Science Monitor<\/em>.
